Scouting provides a wonderful opportunity to develop positive attitudes in young people and gives them an opportunity to become involved in public service while having fun and making new friendships.
Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts gain skills, values and confidence to empower them to make the world a better place and to make the most of their own lives.
All Girl Scout activities are designed to help girls progress in one or more of the four program goals: Develop Self Potential; Relate to Others; Develop Values; and Contribute to Society.
Girls are organized into troops usually from the same grade level and school beginning in Kindergarten and continuing through High School.
Cub Scouts
Cub Scouts Program is for boys from Kindergarten through 5th grades. Scouting is a valuable resource that helps families accomplish worthy goals while building and strengthening relationships within the family.
Cub Scouting combines fun with educational activities and the fostering of lifelong values. It helps strengthen character, develops good citizenship and enhances both mental and physical fitness.
This program prepares the boys to continue their scouting experience into Boy Scouts. If you are interested in joining our troop or have any questions, please contact the Cub Scout Scoutmaster, John Nemmer at 412-760-2116.Scouts BSA
Scouts BSA is for boys from age 11 (6th grade) to age 17. This is a wonderful program for young men to experience the great outdoors and gain an appreciation and respect for its wonders.
While participating in this program the scouts develop leadership, citizenship and character skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.
Troop 4 meets every Monday evening from 7:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Ten months out of the year, the scouts go on a weekend campout. In July they attend summer camp for an entire week at a state-of-the-art camping facility located south of Uniontown, PA and they participate in various district events sponsored by the Greater Pittsburgh Council. Additionally they perform various acts of community service.
If you are interested in joining our troop or have any questions, please contact the Boy Scout Scoutmaster, Tom O’Brien at 412-854-3153.
