The SHIM Garden at St. Joan of Arc Church
Saint Joan of Arc has a SHIM-affiliated garden, that produces fresh vegetables for several Food Pantries in the South Hills. SHIM stands for South Hills Interfaith Ministries.

The SHIM Garden at St. Louise de Marillac Church
The SHIM Garden at St. Louise supports the South Hills Interfaith Movement’s food pantries. Started in 2018, the garden produces over 2,400 pounds of produce each year to support the nutritional needs of those in need in our local community.
Please consider joining our team which meets each Monday evening during the growing season for service, fellowship, and fun!

About SHIM
SHIM serves 3,500 individuals monthly through three food pantries in Bethel Park, Whitehall, and Baldwin. During the pandemic, SHIM saw a 41% rise in need, with more than 5,000 new individuals attending for the first time. Even as the pandemic waned, SHIM continued to see more neighbors
in need, serving 6,205 individuals in 2022 and 7,869 in 2023. Half of pantry participants are refugee/immigrant families, 35% are children, and 15% are age 60+.
