In the Order of Christian Funerals, we read: When a member of Christ’s body dies, the faithful are called to a ministry of consolation to those who have suffered a loss of one they love. They are called to “comfort the mourning.”
It is within this call to “comfort the mourning” that St. Catherine Labouré Parish is launching a new ministry, that of Funeral Liturgy Planner. In this role, Funeral Liturgy Planners meet and assist families in preparing the Mass of Christian Burial that honors their loved one.
For more information on becoming a Funeral Liturgy Planner, please contact Marcella Lantzman (mlantzman@sclpgh.org) or Deacon Rick Cessar (rcessar@sclpgh.org) or by calling 412-833-1010.
