Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are authorized by the Church to help the priest with the distribution of Holy Communion when there are a high number of communicants at Mass. There are also opportunities available to distribute Holy Communion to the sick and to nearby nursing homes. If interested in this ministry, please contact Marcella M. Dalton-Lantzman at 412-833-1010 or mlantzman@sja-stl.org

MANDATORY TRAININGS AND COMMISSIONING OF ALL EMofHC at
St. Catherine Laboure Parish
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh has mandated that all parishes in the Diocese execute and carry out training for all Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC) by the end of calendar year 2024.
St. Catherine Labouré Parish (St. Louise church and St. Joan of Arc church) has scheduled this training for October 5, 2024 in LeGras Hall immediately after the 9:00AM Mass at St. Louise church.
The training will be led by Marcella Lantzman and Deacon Rick Cessar and will last 3 hours and conclude with the formal commissioning of all EMHC who complete this training.
Any EMHC who does not complete this training and commissioning will not be permitted to assist at Mass until they complete the training and they are formally commissioned.
If you attended our earlier training session on July 27, 2024, we are asking that you plan on attending the session on October 5, 2024 at 11:00AM so that you can be commissioned.
We do not have plans to hold another training session at this time. We urge everyone to attend this required and important session. Questions can be directed to Marcella Lantzman at mlantzman@sclpgh.org or Deacon Rick Cessar at rcessar@sclpgh.org.
