Divine Mercy Sunday
“Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death….” As Catholics, when praying the Hail Mary, we recite these words and make this plea many times throughout our lives. We ask The Blessed Mother to pray for us at that hour when we will leave our earthly life and begin our eternal life. Jesus told Saint Faustina as recorded in The Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska 1520…
I have opened My Heart as a living fountain of mercy. Let all souls draw life from it. Let them approach this sea of mercy with great trust. Sinners will attain justification, and the just will be confirmed in good. Whoever places his trust in My mercy will be filled with My divine peace at the hour of death.
Jesus promised Saint Faustina as recorded in The Diary 1777…
Pray as much as much as you can for the dying. By your entreaties, obtain for them trust in My mercy because they have most need of trust, and have it the least. Be assured that the salvation of certain souls in their final moments depends on your prayer…
The Divine Mercy Ministry, which began its formation and preparation in November of 2015, is now available to go to the bedside of the sick and dying and pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet. The ministry has been led in its formation by Father Daniele Vallecorsa, Parochial Vicar at Saint Louise de Marillac parish as well as by Kathy Wabick. Kathy began the Disciples of Divine Mercy in the Holy Face of Jesus over 15 years ago in Syracuse, New York, and is closely associated and led in formation by the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception of Stockbridge, MA.
At the request of the family, 2 or 3 members of The Divine Mercy Ministry will come to the bedside of the sick or dying. In addition, there will also be a group of people who will pray the Chaplet at home or from where they are for the soul, for the family and for those praying at the bedside simultaneously. To arrange for The Divine Mercy Ministry to come to the bedside of your loved one, call the parish office at 412 833-1010.
