The March for Life gives witness to the fact that many people from across our country are not O.K. with the current disregard for human life in our society. It’s an annual reminder that life is sacred and to be protected. Covid, however, has had a tremendous impact on the size of this annual event. Many churches and other groups are not sponsoring buses to DC again this year due to the obvious safety concerns of having a large number of people packed in a closed bus with poor ventilation for the roughly 10 hour round-trip. Hopefully, enough people will make their own arrangements to get to DC to make a notable witness to the dignity of human life. Although St. Catherine Labouré Parish will not have a bus THIS year, it doesn't mean the day will just be like any other. Even if one is not physically present at the March, one can still participate in its impact and success through PRAYER.
The March takes place from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, so in solidarity with those marching, during those hours we will have a special opportunity for prayer before our Lord, by means of Eucharistic Adoration, in St. Louise de Marillac Church. At 3 PM the Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be prayed. Then from 4 to 5 PM we will have a special Pro-Life Holy Hour.
If you’re unable to be in DC to witness to life, please consider joining in prayer and asking God to effect conversion in the minds and hearts of those in darkness and the Culture of Death. Pray also that those who made the journey to DC from all parts of the country will be kept safe and that their time and effort will bear fruit in promoting a Culture of LIFE!
